December Worship Services

December 2           “All Will Know”         Scripture:  Luke 21:25-36

The Scripture is clear in the text that there will be no question about Jesus return.  It is silly and pointless to worry about the time of Jesus’ return.  What we are to do is be ready.

December 9 “Prepare; Prepare What?” Scripture:  Luke 3:1-6

John’s message was one of repentance and preparation.  What might his admonitions mean for us in light of the resurrection?  Because Jesus is alive we too are called to repent and be prepared for his return ourselves.  But wait there is more; we are to prepare the world.  Are we up to the task?  No, but Jesus is.

December 16 “Why We Rejoice” Scripture:  Zephaniah 3:14-20

The Lord has delivered his people and yet we sometimes act like it hasn’t even happed yet.  Our attitudes, especially at this time of year, speak volumes to the world and others in the church.  Do we live as people who are chosen or as people wondering what is going on?

December 23 “Hope” Scripture:  Luke 1:39-55

In the Song of Mary we have a message of hope.  Hope for the people and all of God’s creation.  Christmas is a season of hope.  We need to have faith in the hope of the Lord.  The hope of the world is coming!

December 30 “Bear” Scripture:  Colossians 3:12-17

We are told to bear with one another and so many times it is so much easier and

seemingly satisfying to be a bear to one another? !
